This is my apology in advance, Jay-Z has taken over New Music Tuesday for this week. If you do not like Jay-Z, then this Tuesday, you'll have to find some where else to locate your entertainment.
I'm am beyond excited for Magna Carta Holy Grail! I've been a Jay-Z fan since 1998 when Hard Knock Life came out.
Jay-Z is letting his album be released for free to the first one million Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy S4, and Samsung Note II users. But they have to download the customized 'MCHG' app. Then on July 4th he will unlock the full album 72 hours before the officially release date.
I know I didn't do New Music Tuesday, and today is Friday. But I have an artist that I want everyone to hear. His voice is the definition of perfect; his song Lay Me Down is literally on loop right now.
I will give you three songs with him on it. Let me know what you think.
I'm not a fan of The Weeknd, but hey, I have to keep you guys updated with new music. This song isn't too bad in general. The Weeknd has great vocals, which is always a plus. I recommend this song for when you're having "sexy-time".
Carly Rae Jepsen - Take a Picture
I am a fan of Carly Rae Jepsen. But I don't understand why target her for the younger crowd when she's older than Lady Gaga. This song reminds me of the Coca-Cola commercial for some reason. It's a cute song for like Disney Channel, but I'm waiting for when the adult Carly comes out.
But nice summer song.
Ke$ha - Crazy Kids (Feat. Pitbull)
I love GLITTER, Ke$ha loves GLITTER, we should be best friends. Okay, enough with my awkwardness. This is MY summer song. Ke$ha has flow, and if anybody denies that, they are tone deaf. I studied music for most of my life, I'm a pretty good judgement.
Pitbull, who's on everything now and days, is great. He helps me brush up on my español (well him and Oriana). He's great as a feature, because doesn't over power the song, but at the same time, adding a little Latin flavor.
This NMT will be a compilation between Oriana and I. I picked the songs, so lets see what Oriana thinks about them.
The Wanted - Walks Like Rihanna
Ok first of all LOL to this song from The Wanted, its super catchy though. "She can't sing, she can't dance but who cares she walks like Rihanna." haha. The song is pretty much about a girl who's good looking with no talent but well walks like RiRi. Now we all know that RiRi walks like she's walking down a runway so that's saying something. That woman walks with a swag like no other. I'm a huge fan of The Wanted but this song is not one of my faves. Its quirky and entertaining though, so listen to it and enjoy it .
Jessie J. - Wild (Feat. Big Sean)
Yassss Jessie!!!! This song is definietly going to be on repeat for me this summer. "If this is a dream won't open my eyes, am I asleep? No I'm alive, I just can't believe that this is my life, in my fantasy we're running wild." Yess girlll this song is so good. It had me dancing in my seat writing this. From the beat to the lyrics and Big Sean adds a little something something to this song, workkkk! A great summer song, in my fantasy I'm also running wild ;). Love this song. (fangirling this one all summer)
Little Mix - Dna
"And my heart won't beat again if I can't feel him in my veins." ufff this song is extra dope. Who would've thought you could sing about DNA? Its a great little love song, totes worth dedicating to your summer lover. The beat and the words are great. It's not sappy it has a great feel to it. Totally worth a listen or like 8 lol but what do I know, I'm just giving ya'll my opinion lol. I adore this song, I will def be bumping this while flirting with my summer boy ;)
Snakeships - On & On
This song is very chill, it has a very west coast, California vibe. It's a chill little track to listen to and sit on your stoop with your friends vibing and relaxing. "And it goes on and on and on way past just a game." cruiseeee. If you're a skater this is something you'll def want to take your board and cruise with. Chill song, great vibe. listen to it and enjoy it.
B.o.B - HeadBand (Feat. 2 Chainz)
Of course we needed a booty poppin ghetto girlllll song haha. This song is def for my young and ratchets and ain't no shame in that. This song is chill, "pussy tighter than a headband" ohhh. It is a bit explicit so keep the kiddies away from the uncensored version lol. But I won't lie I totally popped my little booty to this. I really like the beat and the feel of this song. Good rhymes, pretty decent beat, and I like the whistling in the background. "Like she do in the mirror" lol. Enjoy this one guys.
Overall all the songs Tee has chosen for NMT have a summerish vibe and are really cool to just listen to and chill. I hope you'll listen and let us know which song you liked and didn't like. Also let us know what you want to hear. Any artist you want to see on NMT? Email us and let us know.
It's funny, just last week I asked where Mario go, and look a new single. What was his last single? Break up? Thinking about you? I think he had Kelly Rowland in it. (Now I have to look this up..) Mind you that was 2009, but now he's working on his fifth studio album, Restoration. But he's also working on a mixtape that will be release this year also called, Truth Be Told.
But more about this song. Somebody Else is great song to start with in his position trying to get back on the scene. Especially the fact that he has Nicki Minaj on this track, someone was being smart. Nicki's features will most likely get you on the Top-40 charts, and competing with the new music out now, that's what he needs.
To keep with Mario's movements, visit his website by clicking here.
I Am Beautiful - Candice Glover
American Idol winner Candice Glover has released her first single. This woman has so much talent and passion in her performance, I honestly cannot wait to get her album. (Which is available for pre-order here.)
I Am Beautiful should be an anthem for all the young ladies that need a self-esteem boost.
To keep up with Candice visit her website by clicking here.
X.O.X - Elijah Blake (Feat. Common)
X.O.X is such a great song. I discovered it today while browsing on iTunes, and it was immediately added to my library. Common is such a hit and miss with me, but this was (as Oriana say) perf.
I'm sure people can relate to this song, missing an ex, but having a relationship with new person.
Check out this song and let me know what you think. I love feedback.
Click here to visit Elijah Blake's website. Click here to visit Common's.
and lastly.....
TIMEFLIES
I Choose U
Okay, so I have to admit, I was quite biased when I chose NMT this week. I know that this song is NOT NEW, but it's Timeflies. I'm such a fan-girl of them, that some might think I'm on a creeper level.
I've been following Timeflies since 2010, maybe early 2011 when they were just on youtube making Timeflies Tuesday videos. Now I see them on MTV and totally flip the !@#$ out. I don't know what I love more, Rez's beats, Cal's singing/freestyling, or the sexiness they ooze from their pores.
Cal can literally freestyle about ANYTHING, trust me, I've seen it. Rez makes some of the dopest beats out there. If the music industry ever tries to change them, I will be totally pissed. They are perfect the way they are, and I hope they remember that.
I literally own every mixtape (the Scotch Tape is my favorite), single, everything. I also have some of their shirts. (I swear I'm not a stalker.)
Check out their other songs (links below), I promise you won't regret it.
I'm not even going to review this song just CLICK the freaking play button!!!!!!!
This is their reaction to being on the radio for the first time, and I believe I had the same one! (We were listening at the same time, and same station coincidentally.)
Check out the new songs I picked out for you this week:
The Great Gatsby Soundtrack - Various Artist:
F. Scott Fitzgerald most popular book has been transformed into a movie, and now the sound track is out. It has a great line up on it. Jay Z, Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey, Jack White, Gotye and more.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but if it's a good as the book and album, I'm sure I won't have any complaints.
This is a Sampler. You can sample all the songs off the album and thank me later. (:
Lady Antebellum - Golden:
I literally have every album by them. Lady Antebellum was a drastic part of my convert to country music. Maybe because I think of them as Country/Pop. They have the twang, but they remind me of something on the Top-40 radio station.
We mentioned Lady Antebellum on NMT before when they debuted Downtown. If you liked that single, you'll love the album.
'
Demi Lovato: Heart Attack
Everyone has been talking about this album, so I just got it from iTunes. I'm glad Demi is back in action. She had a struggle just like every other woman in the world, but she handled it with maturity. But not only did she mature in life, she matured vocally. She's a grown woman now, and sure is acting like it.
So to make up for missing last Tuesday's NMT, I'll do a few extras for you. <3 Please forgive me!
Mariah Carey (Feat. Miguel) - #Beautiful
Aww sh!t, MiMi is back with a new one. I'm actually listening to this as I type about it, and I've declared, this mightWILL be my summer jam. I'm so glad she picked Miguel to be on here with her. It's smooth, calming, and a new sound for Mariah. I like that Mariah can always get back in the game and effort is FLAWLESS. Married with two kids, and still hitting those high notes. WHAT?! She's my musical idol. Too bad I heard she's leaving American Idol. I LOVE YOU MIMI *Fan-girl voice*
Becky G - Becky from the Block
Who remembers J-Lo's Jenny from the Block? Well this is the 2013 Becky G version. Becky G has a cute little flow, and I like it. Representing Inglewood, CA, she's talking about her life back home, and quite honestly, I like when artist talk about their hometowns. The first time I heard of Becky G was on a Cody Simpson song, and she was a great feature. The only thing I don't like about her "style" is her wannabe chola-ness. If you don't know what a chola is, click here for the definition. If you still don't understand, e-mail Oriana.
I don't know much about Bingo Players, but after listening to this song, I'm on a search for good songs by them. To be honest, I've never had a thing for 2 Chainz, but I think he's slowly changing that. I don't know many songs by him, but his features are pretty hot. This song will specifically be a club hit. I don't care what anyone says. Blast it with the windows down, blast it in the gym while you're trying to get that one last mile in. I just want to put on some bright neon shorts and shake it while listening to this song.
Daft Punk - Get Lucky [Feat. Pharrell]
Daft Punk is a classic. If you don't know who they are e-mail me, I can recommend good tunes for you. Honestly, words don't do Daft Punk justice. I recommend you just listen to this song, and the fact that Pharrell is on this track is like A++.
We The Kings - Find You There
This is my first We The Kings song, so I don't have much to say about them. But I will be looking for more to share with you guys. But this song reminds me of music by The Cab, which is probably why I like it. This whole list could be my new summer playlist.
Check out the New Music I've chosen for you today!
New Album Releases of the Week:
Paramore - Paramore
Paramore has released their self-titled album Paramore this week, and like always, they never disappoint. Our favorite red-head Hayley is back with her crew. When ever I hear Paramore I think of their Riot album (which is my fave), and think, can they do better? Well here is the answer...YES! The best part is, I like how they stuck with their old sound, but got a mature vibe. You can see from the comments below on the track, people agree. Check out their album, and you can buy it here.
Fall Out Boy- Save Rock and Roll
In a past NMT post, we talked about how much we ADORE Fall Out Boy. (You can view that here.) Now that I've heard the entire Save Rock and Roll album, I'm still impressed. Patrick vocals are slaying all over, and that is not a bad thing. Phoenix has to be my favorite song on the album, but by tomorrow afternoon, that might change. Fall Out Boy are still on tour, so check here for the tour dates. But a lot of the dates are sold out, so move fast. Also, you can buy their album here.
Kid Cudi - Indicud
I was never really a Kid Cudi fan, but this album might have changed that. He has a serious flow, and I'm disappointed in myself for not being hip to him sooner. He has such a stoner vibe, and quite frankly, I love it. Most you know now I'm not really into the whole "hip-hop" scene anymore, but I know who Too $hort is, and he's a great feature for this song. The song Girls happens to be my favorite off the Indicudi album, and it will probably be one of the hottest songs of the season. You can buy Indicud here.
Check out the New Music I've chosen for you today!
Selena Gomez- Come & Get It:
Selena Gomez is BACK! Left Justin in the dust, and kept going. With a Bollywood theme, this song is brilliant, and perfect for the windows down, music blasting weather we're having right now in Maryland. Fresh from acting in Spring Breakers, now back to music; I hope all her new songs are as vibrant as this one. Now all we have to do is wait on an album release date.
Jonas Brothers - Pom Poms
The Jonas Brothers have reunited, and I'm totally excited! Honestly, the song is totally cheezy, but I still like it. Another reason I'm excited, is because missed the brothers together. They were the OneDirection before OneDirection. I hope this song helps them get back up there, even if it sounds like it belongs on Disney Channel.
Ray J - I hit it first
Is it totally inappropriate that actually enjoy this song? The reason behind the song is completely irrelevant to why I like it. I won't even go there. But the song is actually not bad. It's very catchy, and I mean, we've heard worse by other famous rappers. I think he only wrote the song to get back in the limelight, but at least he has talent.
Today will be a short version of New Music Tuesday, but I promise the songs are totally worth it.
Chris Brown - Fine China:
This song reminds me so much of Michael Jackson, but in a new age version. I'm kind of glad O told me to listen to it for NMT. Chris Brown's music has been up and down for me, but this is surely one of his ups. This song is on his upcoming album called X. It doesn't have a release date yet, but when I find out, we'll let you know. Check out his video for Fine China here. The music is good, the dancing, even better. But Chris, before you make another video fight scene, practice a little more. Kay?
Florida Georgia Line - Cruise Remix (Feat. Nelly):
OMG, I've had an EARGASM! First, can you deny these country boys? I think not! The original version is good, but this version is even better. Nelly adds a hip-hop feel to the track. There's not a video out for the song yet, but I'll keep you updated on my new favorite trio.
p.s. I think Nelly would make an awesome Country artist if he ever wants to switch markets.
Ellie Goulding - Hanging On (Feat. Tinie Tempah)
Actually, I'm a new Ellie Goulding fan. I just got her album Halcyon, and immediately fell in love with it. I think it's because her music fits her personality, fun and easy-going. But there's something about this song. The beat, the lyrics, Tinie Tempah? I don't know, but it makes you want to listen to it repeatedly. Her video for this song is in Ellie fashion. I feel like I'm watching an episode of Skins sometimes with her stuff, which is cool with me. Click here to see her video.
Woah, have you seen that Miley Cyrus video of her "Twerkin'"? If not, you need to see it NOW!
Personally, I'm not mad at her. If you can do it, then do it. People hate on Miley Cyrus, but for what? I don't see anything wrong with her behavior, because she's acting just like a normal girl her age. Maybe it has something to do with her father being Bill Ray Cyrus, or that she had a show on Disney channel. But now she's grown, and is growing into a beautiful woman. So props to Miley for being who she is.
Beyonce' - Bow Down/I've Been On Well King Bey is back. Now this song is an entirely 180 of Beyonce' but I think you should still check it out. It's a bit edger than her normal sound, and has gotten mix reviews by her fans. Me personally, I liked the beat, and how she chopped & screwed the ending. I've never seen Beyonce really be a center of controversy, but this song is starting some whispers. Just press play, and you'll understand why.
Blake Lewis - Your Touch
Now that the weather is breaking, you need some new music to blast with the windows down. This is your song. Blake Lewis vocals, mixed with this beat, I give it an A++. A little Dub-Step in the background, you're great to go. Check it out.
Ciara - Body Party Ciara is back with a new mature, sexier sound. The song has mixed reviews, but I like it. I think her sound is a lot better (she must've been working hard lately) than she used to be. Ciara might be giving RiRi a run for her money now. Check it out.
James Arthur - Impossible I know this song isn't exactly NEW, but I just came across it yesterday. James Arthur's version of Shontelle's song Impossible is probably (in my opinion) better than the original. His voice is so rugged, but smoothed. I'm still trying to figure out how a voice could have "swag". Heres a link to his SoundCloud, where you can check out some of his other covers and single. (Highly Recommended)
Pink (Feat. Nate Ruess) - Just Give Me a Reason
Just Give Me a Reason isn't really *NEW* also, but it's a great song that I personally think everyone should listen to. Honestly, I think it's Nate Ruess that makes it so good. His voice is so distinct, it makes the vocals shine. Hit Play, and let me know what you think.
First we want to apologize for NMT being on a Wednesday but its around that time when midterms are given and Tee and I are both college students so school is literally kicking our asses. That and I (Ohh) also work two jobs, so it's definitely hard to keep up, but we won't let this happen again! So once again we apologize, say you'll forgive us? Lol <3
Now onto NMT after his little vacation Hip Hop artist Drake has come back with a single and is also featured on another single with another Canadian heartthrob the one and only Justin Bieber. Are you a Bieliber? It's a cute song and I'm a huge Drake and Justin fan so seeing two of my favorite Canadians get together and make an awesome song makes me super happy..I'm a total fangirl ;) lol.
Now his solo single 5 am in Toronto is not only a new single but also a diss song? Dissing The Weeknd, Common, and Chris Brown all in one song. Drizzy goes innnn! lol. It's a dope track though, so if you're a fan of any of the three he disses keep calm and just enjoy Drizzy.
And just for kicks if you live under a rock and haven't heard his other song "Started from the Bottom" here you go....you're welcome lol.
Back from the grave, Jimi Hendrix released a new album called People, Hell and Angels. Now if you don't know who Hendrix is, either you're too young, or you've been living under a rock. Mind you, I'm 22.
This album is a collection of some of his unreleased studio recordings before his death. (Yes, Jimi is dead for those who aren't familiar.) This album fits well with some of the new music out right now. It's a newer sound for him, and will probably give some of the new artist more music to sample of him.
Some of my favorites off this album are "Somewhere", "Hey Gypsy Boy", and "Bleeding Heart".
Take a listen to "Somewhere":
Luke Bryan
Country star Luke Bryan is out with a new hot album called Spring Break ... Here To Party.
This album is more for summer-time, short shorts wearing kind of weather. Luke Bryan always brings the party in his music, and I love it. Sometimes his music reminds me of Keith Urban, but with a more pop feel.
You have to admit, the man is hot. (Top 10 Hottest Male Country Singers in my book.)
Currently Luke is on tour, check out his full tour date list at LukeBryan.comSome of my favorite songs off the new album are "Buzzkill", and "Just a Sip".
Listen to Buzzkill here:
New Singles
Iron & Wine
If you've never heard of Iron & Wine, then you're a confused soul who needs to get on iTunes right now and download their album. Check out their new single Grace for Saints and Ramblers.
3OH!3
I have a secret obsession (which isn't a secret now) with 3Oh!3. Straight out of Colorado, Nathaniel and Sean are back again. Check out their new single just released today called Back To Life.

Also check out the new single of our last weeks featured artist Quita, club 1147.
Last week my best friend introduced me to one of the hottest songs I've heard in awhile, but what makes the song better is that it's not from Drake, Kanye, or 2 Chainz. No this is from a young up and coming artist who's amazing if I do say so myself and who I needed to get my hands on before he blows up and Vibe and The Source are fighting each other for an exclusive interview with him. So as a special treat New Music Tuesday has a spotlight feature artist.
Quita is a 24 year old Dominican senior at Stony Brook University, from the Bronx, NY, currently finishing his last semester and working a part time job. His childhood was a mixture of both crazy friends and focusing on school. He had a lot of bad influences but his family kept him grounded and helped him propel to where he is now.
When asked what made him want to get into music and who inspired him he answered, "I never grew up listening to hip hop, it was more Micheal Jackson and older music. That kind of got me into writing poetry and then after listening to hip hop everyday for like 3/4 years I was addicted. So I took what I knew from poetry and applied it to rap. The one person who inspired me the MOST (other than the Jays, and the Kanyes) was Kendrick Lamar. I like that there is substance to his raps, and emotions. That made me want to get into writing raps."
Quita is a proud brother of Sigma Lambda Beta fraternity inc. it was actually his frat brother (my best friend thanks Los for making me listen) who told me about him, so those of you Greeks who are wondering if he performs at any Greek events he has performed poetry but not his music yet, but look out for him in the near future cause you might see your LB blowing the place up!
So where does this up and coming artist see himself in five years if he's not at the MTV awards rapping the roof off the place? "If I don't make it in music then I will make it in acting. I honestly feel like you can accomplish whatever you set out to accomplish."
If you're wondering who he's working with to make his music well don't wonder any longer, this young artist says he's been blessed to work with a really good artist named QWAACK. He even quoted what his mentor has said to him, "you always had it in you, now I just want to help you sharpen it."
Great words to hear from someone who is supporting him and helping him make his dreams come true right? Yeah, we thought so too.
So my last question to him was what did he have to say to you the readers who will hopefully go out and listen to his music and he said, and I'm quoting here so don't think I'm trying to make him sound all deep and humble (he's clearly very humble and being a poet deep haha), "I figured out that the key to making great music is being yourself while at the same time being relatable. All my experiences in my raps are all me, either where I've been or where I'm trying to go. I like telling the stories of where I grew up while still staying true to who I was (never gang affiliated or drugs). I love productive criticism it only helps to better the artist so when ever listening to any of my projects feel free to comment to let me know where I can get better cause after all I'm just a student of the music."
To say it was a pleasure to get to interview him (even if it was via email) would be an understatement. This is clearly someone who's passionate about his music and appreciates that people are taking the time to listen to him. A very talented young hard working man, who's going to (mock my words) make it no matter what. So when you see him on MTV or BET remember that you read it here first.
If you're a fan of Passion Pit or Imagine Dragons (like Tanisha), its quite possible you're already a fan of Atlas Genius.
Atlas Genius is a fairly new group, established in 2011, and are well on their way. Two of my favorite songs off their new album When It Was Now are "Trojans" and "If So".
I first heard their song randomly on Tumblr, and then someone like my photo on Instagram. When I went to their page, they had Atlas Genius all over their page. Soo...of course I had to check them out.
You're probably thinking I favor a lot of Indie (well..yeah I do) but, they are well worth giving a listen to. If you like them (told you so), leave a comment and let me know.
Currently they are on tour. You can check out their tour list here. But hurry, because most of their shows are sold out.
ONEREPUBLIC
First, check out that album cover. That is awesome album art right there. I wonder if they sell theirs like Sleeping at Last does? I'll find out. On February 4, 2012, OneRepublic announced on their twitter page that they would be coming out with a new album. After many delays and date changes, they've finally finished recording. Ladies and gentlemen, here is NATIVE! Okay, so I know their NEW album doesn't come out until March 26th, I'm still über excited! I've already put the release date in my planner, and will be ready for iTunes at 11:59 pm on the 25th. This will be OneRepublic's third studio album, and probably the best yet. For some reason, OneRepublic has a tendency to get better and better after releasing an album. But I might be a biased opinion.
For all our European followers, OneRepublic will be a month long tour in April. Click here to see the list of cities they will be stopping in.
"All along it was a fever A cold sweat high-headed believer. I threw my hands in the air and said, "Show me something," He said, "If you dare come a little closer."
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone who's a high headed believer that love and all its glory is real, that everyone gets a chance to live it, feel it. But what about those who don't believe? Who have been burned countless times because of love, because they let someone in and they left even though they promised that they would never leave, that they would always stay.
But that's love right? It's a risk we all at one point in our life take. The risk of knowing that we could possibly lose ourselves to somebody else, to a stranger who somehow captures us enough that we are willing to give it everything and anything to make it work. But it doesn't always work, too many times we get hurt, we lose, and for what? For a chance to live in pure bliss, even if its for a moment, just a moment of pure bliss isn't that what love is when it works out? Pure bliss.
But that's not to say that we always lose, no some of us, some lucky amount of us they win. They find the people they're supposed to be with and even though there are bumps on the road, sometimes too many to count, they overcome them..together. See the thing about love is that it's a two way street, but too often only one person puts effort while the other just takes without giving. But on rare occasions, you'll find someone who will put just as much or even more than you because they love you, they want to spend forever with you. When someone is meant for you, truly and honestly meant for you they will always find their way to you. They will cherish you, like a gift from the heavens, as if God himself made you for each other. It's nice to dream, to believe that we will all get our own little piece of heaven, and most of the time we do, some sooner than others, but still in the end we do. But what about those of us who spend their life alone? Is it because they had no one to complete them? Is it because their soul mate never made it to them? What went wrong that you never found your other half? Or better yet did something go right that you ended up alone? People always seem to think that if you're alone you're lonely..but truth of the matter is that not everyone wants to be with someone and we need to accept that yes maybe you do have a soul mate and yes maybe you are in love with them but that doesn't mean you're supposed to be with them. I heard once, "just because you're in love with someone doesn't mean you're meant to be together," sad isn't it? That you could fall head over heels in love with someone but you just aren't meant to be together. But sometimes that's whats best and we need to accept it and live with it knowing that maybe all we need is just to be happy being alone, happy knowing that we experienced love and lost it, because it's better to have love and lost than to never love at all right?
"Oh the reason I hold on, oh cause I need this hole gone. Funny you're the broken one but I'm the only one who needed saving. Cause when you never see the light it's hard to know which one of us is caving. Not really sure how to feel about it. Something in the way you move makes me feel like I can't live without you. It takes me all the way. I want you to stay." Well to make a long post short (ha like if its not long enough haha.) I just want you readers to understand that love as beautiful as it can be can also be disgustingly painful and what comes from it isn't always joy but sometimes sorrow. But either way no matter the outcome you loved, you felt, you lived in those moments you shared with someone you lived. Never be scared to love, to open up, yes the fear of knowing it might not work out or that you will get hurt will always be there but what kind of a life are you living if you don't let yourself feel love and pain? One can't exist without the other, there can't be a rainbow without rain.
"It's not much of a life you're living. It's not just something you take – it's given."
I don't know how many people know about James Blake, be he's a really great artist. He's known more for his beats, and the "Post-Dubstep" movement. But I actually like listening to him sing. If you didn't know, Post Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South East London.
I'm truly loving this song "Retrograde", because it's nothing like what I'm used to hearing from him. It's like he gained extra soul over the past few years. It resembles nothing of the current "post-dubstep" that I've been exposed to. After his Enough Thunder EP, I was definitely hooked to James Blake.
According to his website, his second album. Overgrown, will be released April 8th. I will be on iTunes April 7th at 11:59pm .
Check out Retrograde, and let me know what you think!
Imagine Dragons
'Night Visions'
Today, Imagine Dragons released the Deluxe Version of their album Night Visions. You might've heard their songs "It's Time" or "Radioactive", but my favorite on the album is "My Fault".
What I like about Imagine Dragons, is that their sound is different. Not like something I've heard before. Most of their songs, I can get up and dance too (if I wanted), or you can relax.
Currently, Imagine Dragons is on tour, but sadly most dates are sold out. (Including Maryland -__- )
