Obsessed: John Green

Okay, here at OhhTee Blog, you know that we are HUGGGEEEE John Green fans. Well I stumbled upon a John Green review of ‘Eleanor & Park,’ by Rainbow Rowell which you can see here. But also, John Green was on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, speaking about his emergency dental surgery, The Faults in Our Stars, and other funny things.

Also check out his vlog on youtube that he does with his brother Hank. https://www.youtube.com/user/vlogbrothers

New Music Tuesday

Featured Artist "MottaGang"

So of course I had to jump on the chance to interview a new up and coming group especially since one of the members is a hottie that I personally know. I was lucky enough to be squeezed into their schedule and get some questions answered.

If you're into rap and hip hop you'll definitely love these guys. They're raunchy very "thug life" but it's dope. I gave it a listen and thought it was amazeballs.

Of course all good interviews start with the basic questions. What's the name of the group and who are the members? "Well the name of our group is "MottaGang" which stems from a brotherhood formed many years ago by the name of "mbam"  mottagang consists of the following , "KillaTal" "Marz" "ElGifted" "shiggz"  we live by the motta. InBamWeTrust!" Doesn't that sound awesome? In Bam We Trust..kind of like In God we trust..interesting huh?

After getting that answered I had to ask what made a group of hot 20 something year old get together and become a group? Well apparently killatal (aka Jorge since that's what I know him as lol) met gifted when he was 16  and they formed a crew which was called Mbam with Buck and Twizzy. Shortly after they met Marz,Shiggz,Cuervo, and Rich. They formed a big family with 4 of them being individual artists as well as a group.

Isn't is awesome when hot guys decide to get together and become a group? Yes ladies, we are lucky we get eye candy and good music. YASS! (That's yes for those of you who haven't picked up on my way of talking yet.)
So you have to wonder who influenced this young group of gentlemen to get involved in the music business to begin with. After all everyone has someone that makes them want to reach their dreams and become more. To name a few artists who influenced them (just a couple haha) Wutang, 50cent, Mobbdeep, Nas, Jayz, Jadakiss, StylesP, Dmx, Tupac, Biggie, BigL, BigPun, (imagine if he had mentioned everyone, that's just a few lol) and the this list goes on and on. They also listen to some of the new school rap out now but since they are an up and coming group they prefer to not gas any heads. Lol you have to love their honesty.

Personally I always want to know where an artist sees themselves in the future so I had to ask where does MottaGang see themselves in 5 years? "In 5 years I see "mottagang" being an elite music group in the tri state  area  with all of us having our own individual fan base  Making some heavy noise!  The new "Wu"is here. The new "unit" is here. The new "RR" is here!! MottaGang!" WOOF! Sounds legit to me, seems like we will be hearing a lot of these boys in the future.

If you're wondering if they have any performances lined up well at the moment they don't, they're so busy being lab rats that they haven't penciled in any performances. But I'm sure as soon as they do start performing I'll be sure to let you guys know.

Make sure to check them out on YouTube and support the Motta movement.

I want to personally thank Jorge (Killatal) for taking time off his busy schedule to answer my questions and make this interview happen. Good luck to you guys and can't wait to here more from you guys.

MC Woppin'

Woah, have you seen that Miley Cyrus video of her "Twerkin'"? If not, you need to see it NOW!

Personally, I'm not mad at her. If you can do it, then do it. People hate on Miley Cyrus, but for what? I don't see anything wrong with her behavior, because she's acting just like a normal girl her age. Maybe it has something to do with her father being Bill Ray Cyrus, or that she had a show on Disney channel. But now she's grown, and is growing into a beautiful woman. So props to Miley for being who she is.

ps. That unicorn onesie is cute!

New Music Tuesday

Beyonce' - Bow Down/I've Been On

Well King Bey is back. Now this song is an entirely 180 of Beyonce' but I think you should still check it out. It's a bit edger than her normal sound, and has gotten mix reviews by her fans. Me personally, I liked the beat, and how she chopped & screwed the ending. I've never seen Beyonce really be a center of controversy, but this song is starting some whispers. Just press play, and you'll understand why.

Blake Lewis - Your Touch
Now that the weather is breaking, you need some new music to blast with the windows down. This is your song. Blake Lewis vocals, mixed with this beat, I give it an A++. A little Dub-Step in the background, you're great to go. Check it out.

Ciara - Body Party

Ciara is back with a new mature, sexier sound. The song has mixed reviews, but I like it. I think her sound is a lot better (she must've been working hard lately) than she used to be. Ciara might be giving RiRi a run for her money now. Check it out.

James Arthur - Impossible

I know this song isn't exactly NEW, but I just came across it yesterday. James Arthur's version of Shontelle's song Impossible is probably (in my opinion) better than the original. His voice is so rugged, but smoothed. I'm still trying to figure out how a voice could have "swag".  Heres a link to his SoundCloud, where you can check out some of his other covers and single. (Highly Recommended)

Pink (Feat. Nate Ruess) - Just Give Me a Reason

Just Give Me a Reason isn't really *NEW* also, but it's a great song that I personally think everyone should listen to. Honestly, I think it's Nate Ruess that makes it so good. His voice is so distinct, it makes the vocals shine. Hit Play, and let me know what you think.

Sherlock!

I have the greatest respect for the literary arts, especially for Sir Author Conan Doyle (and Poe, but we won't go there).

Check out that mustache, he is freaking awesome. -->

There has been many adaptations to the worlds greatest Sherlock Holmes, and I'm excited that the BBC has decided on a season THREE and FOUR of Sherlock.

So because tomorrow is the first day of filming season three, I am declaring it NATIONAL SHERLOCK DAY! If you follow me on any of my social networks, I will be talking about Sherlock.

I'm excited to see Benedict Cumberbatch back in action as Sherlock. I won't spoil the ending of season two, but if you have the time, grab a bucket of popcorn and turn on Netflix (I checked PBS, but it's not on there anymore.) and have a day with it!

New Music Tuesday...err Wednesday

First we want to apologize for NMT being on a Wednesday but its around that time when midterms are given and Tee and I are both college students so school is literally kicking our asses. That and I (Ohh) also work two jobs, so it's definitely hard to keep up, but we won't let this happen again! So once again we apologize, say you'll forgive us? Lol <3

Now onto NMT after his little vacation Hip Hop artist Drake has come back with a single and is also featured on another single with another Canadian heartthrob the one and only Justin Bieber. Are you a Bieliber? It's a cute song and I'm a huge Drake and Justin fan so seeing two of my favorite Canadians get together and make an awesome song makes me super happy..I'm a total fangirl ;) lol.

Now his solo single 5 am in Toronto is not only a new single but also a diss song? Dissing The Weeknd, Common, and Chris Brown all in one song. Drizzy goes innnn! lol. It's a dope track though, so if you're a fan of any of the three he disses keep calm and just enjoy Drizzy.

And just for kicks if you live under a rock and haven't heard his other song "Started from the Bottom" here you go....you're welcome lol.

Why Don't Movies Live Up To Their Books?

By Tanisha F.

Film adaptations. A lot of times when I hear books are being turned into movies, I just cringe. Never have I thought a movie did a book justice, including movies like Harry Potter, Twilight, and recently The Perks of Being a Wallflower. After that, it hit me, why don't movies satisfy me like books do?  I mean, it's the same book but in visual form right?

Well, yes and no. Books are written by Authors, while movies are written by Screenwriters. Sometimes the screenwriters are the actual author, but most of the time it's not.

So these are the few reasons that I've came up with on why I'm never as pleased with the movie.

1. My interpretation. When I read a book, I see things in a certain way. Directors, Producers and Screenwriters can't possibly know how I imagined the character to act, speak or behave. You can say a boy with a ball, and I'll think of a little rockstar kid, with purple hair and big blue eyes. But someone else may think of something different.

2. The MPAA, or Motion Picture Association of America. A lot of times movies have to be watered down so that the intended audience can still view them. For example, Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1. According to Digital Spy, "The British Board of Film Classification advised producers to edit the 'graphic sight of Edward thrusting while he lies on top of Bella' to avoid the film being given a 15 certificate." Meaning, instead of being PG-13, they were going to give the movie a rating of R. The producers had no choice but to change the story, because the books were meant for the young adult audiences.

3. The time lapse. If the producers kept every detail of the book in the movie, we'd be in the movies all day. Most filmmakers have a budget they must stick to, and the more they shoot, the more they pay. True fans of a book knows exactly what part is missing from the movie and will point it out. I know I did in Harry Potter. I remember once I screamed out, "that's not how it happened in the book!"

4. Discouragement. Once people find out that book is turning into a movie, they tend to not want to actually read the book. As you can tell, I am a reader. And as a reader, it truly disappoints me when someone young says, "why read it when I can just see the movie?"

I'm not too excited to see that E.L. Jame's Fifty Shades of Grey or Colleen Hoover's Slammed series will be turned into a movie. But I guess if you really support an author, you should go check out the adaptations.

It may be possible to create a good movie from the book, and when it happens, I'll be happy.

New Music Tuesday

New Albums

Jimi Hendrix

Back from the grave, Jimi Hendrix released a new album called People, Hell and Angels. Now if you don't know who Hendrix is, either you're too young, or you've been living under a rock. Mind you, I'm 22.

This album is a collection of some of his unreleased studio recordings before his death. (Yes, Jimi is dead for those who aren't familiar.) This album fits well with some of the new music out right now. It's a newer sound for him, and will probably give some of the new artist more music to sample of him.

Some of my favorites off this album are "Somewhere", "Hey Gypsy Boy", and "Bleeding Heart".

Take a listen to "Somewhere":

Luke Bryan

Spring Break... Here to Party
Country star Luke Bryan is out with a new hot album called Spring Break ... Here To Party.

This album is more for summer-time, short shorts wearing kind of weather. Luke Bryan always brings the party in his music, and I love it. Sometimes his music reminds me of Keith Urban,  but with a more pop feel.

You have to admit, the man is hot. (Top 10 Hottest Male Country Singers in my book.)

Currently Luke is on tour, check out his full tour date list at LukeBryan.com Some of my favorite songs off the new album are "Buzzkill", and "Just a Sip".

Listen to Buzzkill here:

New Singles
Iron & Wine

If you've never heard of Iron & Wine, then you're a confused soul who needs to get on iTunes right now and download their album.  Check out their new single Grace for Saints and Ramblers

Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines, Review

“Everyone always says that love was enough. It wasn’t. Not when your soul has been shattered.”
-Abbi Glines, Fallen Too Far
Blair Wynn, a gun toting 19 year-old, decides she has no option but to ask her father for help. Knowing she has nothing else left in this world, he offers her a place to stay. But when she gets there, she soon realizes he isn’t even in the country. He’s out gallivanting with his new wife. While she’s trying to figure out how she’s going to live and what to do, she meets Rush, his new wife’s son. He tells her that she can stay, but she has to sleep in the bedroom inside the pantry under the stairs. Blair gladly takes that, because what else does she have? The first thing she does is find a job at the local country club. She’s hired on the spot, she starts as a drink cart girl, meeting all the local regulars. Some of them take quickly to her because of her “good-looks”. Especially the owner’s son, Woods. Basically, Woods tries to warn her to be careful with Rush and his sister, Nan. Nan despises Blair, but she can’t for the life of her figure out why.
The whole town knows this big secret, and Rush is doing everything in his power for Blair not to find out what it is. But as Rush is being a serious jerk to Blair, he is slowly falling in love with her. First, there are a few kisses here and there, and then he warns her to stay away from him because he’s no good for her. (Does that sound familiar? Fifty? Gideon?) She starts to feel like he’s playing with her emotions, until that trip to the “Honky-Tonk”. (By the way, that sounds like so much fun!)  The sexual tension is too much for them, and by the end of the night, someone ended up pants-less in the back seat of someone’s Range Rover.
“Because I’ve had a taste and I’m not sharing. This isn’t just for fun. I may be slightly addicted.”
The plot twist of the book is probably why I gave it 5 stars. From the middle of the book, until the end, I kept freaking out trying to figure out what was the big secret. It was kind of confusing at first but by the end of it, you’ll know why no one wanted to tell Blair. It doesn’t help that she owns a gun either.
“There are some things you need to know.” He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “I’m dealing with the fact that you may walk away from me once you know them and never look back. It scares the hell out of me. I don’t know what this is that is going on between us but from the moment I laid eyes on you I knew you were going to change my world. I was terrified. The more I watched you the more you drew me in. I couldn’t get close enough.”
Something that was kind of weird for me…wasn’t Rush her stepbrother? Should she be having sexual relations with her stepbrother? I don’t know. But kudos to you, Abbi Glines, it was a fabulously well-written story. I couldn’t put it down.

Rule by Jay Crownover Review

"Opposites don't just attract they freaking catch fire and burn the entire city down.

Shaw Landon was a class act, the girl was beautiful, smart, and tried her best to make sure that those she loved were happy. Even if it meant she had to carry the burden or suffer because of it. She had goals and was driven to be a successful doctor but she had bigger plans for herself. She has been in love with the same boy since she was 13 years old..

Rule Archer was everything your mother told you to stay away from. A bad boy with tattoos and piercings (delicious piercings if you get what I mean ;) ) but he was damaged, and to make it worst he didn't think he deserved love. His other half was taken from him before his time, his best friend, his twin brother Remy. No doubt that without Remy Rule just got worst. Going from woman to woman, drink to drink he eased the pain of losing his brother by sleeping around and doing what he loved most, tattooing.

Shaw was tied to the Archer family and Rule hated that he had to see her, hated that she was beautiful and smart and that she was the perfect match for his perfect twin brother. But Shaw and Remy had secrets, secrets that when they got out, could destroy it all. Shaw swore to hold all of Remy's secrets even after his death but she could only hold them so long before things got worst.

She spend almost 10 years being in love with Rule, secretly pinning for him, while being treated like furniture by her own family. But she adored the Archers and more importantly she was in love with Rule..flaws and all. She knew that he was always worthy of it all, her love, his families love.

"I think it's genetically impossible to not be kind of in love with him when you come equipped with a vagina. It's just something about all that angsty, moody swagger he has that makes you want to cuddle him up and make him feel better."

So what happens when the bad boy and the good girl try to make it work? Hearts are broken, families will be torn, but the truth will always set you free...

"Here's my heart Shaw. You have it in your hands and I promise you're the first and last person to ever touch it. You need to be careful with it because it's far more fragile than I ever thought and if you try and give it back I'm not taking it. I don't know enough about love to know for sure that's what this between us is, but I know that for me it's you and only you from here on out and I can only promise to be careful and not push you away again."

I laughed, I cried, I was happy and I was sad. This was an epic love story, Rule and Shaw were two different people but no matter how far into the dark Rule was Shaw would always bring him back. She was the light at the end of the tunnel.

This story was amazeballs amazing! I loved every moment of it and I recommend it to everyone!

It even has an amazing soundtrack to it. Read it. Love it. Live it.

"Love like this wasn't to be missed even for those of us that had never realized it was out there.

xoxo. O
